Howdy Brave Being,
Welcome back, dear readers. In case you’ve missed it, I’ve been editing the ongoing sci-fi horror series AMELIA SKY, a post-apocalyptic tale about Amelia, an amnesiac girl with the power to stop an alien threat. I’ve also been helping out with the AMELIA SKY #1-4 Kickstarter campaign, and it’s now in its final hours.
Written by Jermaine M. Boyd with art by Martina Niosi and Gwynn Tavares, it’s a series ripe with action, haunting visuals, and relatable characters.
We’ve raised 50% of our goal so far and haven’t given up hope, which reminds me of the series’ titular character Amelia Sky and the story itself.
Amelia embodies survival through hope and community. She only survived the last three issues with help from others in the story. It’s a real "companionship as salvation" kind of tale, and that’s what I love about it. Amidst the horrors, from the monstrous aliens to the other unsavory survivors along the way, the story has heart—and most of all, hope.
We wouldn’t have gotten this far in the campaign if not for the 91 backers and everyone who has shared, retweeted, and reposted the campaign on social media. I am eternally grateful for the support that’s been shown for this story and campaign and I know from working closely with the creators Boyd, Niosi, and Tavares that they are just as thankful.
Together, we know we can make this book happen with the generous support of our community. We hope that you’ll back AMELIA SKY #1-4 today so we can continue creating stories that people need—stories that remind us that there’s a glimmer of hope in the darkness.
As always, thanks for reading!
